Local Funding Programmes
- Warwick District Council operates a Rural/Urban Initiatives Scheme (RUCIS) which gives grants (£1,000 – £20,000) to locally led and run, not-for-profit, community organisations towards capital projects such as property or equipment’ and include energy efficiency and renewable energy technology such as insulation, LED lighting, solar panels and heat pumps.

- If you represent a local community organisation with a brilliant idea for a project that will benefit both your community and the environment, contact Heart of England Community Energy, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, The not-for-profit community benefit society uses in using surplus income to support local community organisations in community carbon reduction projects. HECE also offer “Solar Soft Loans” for community organisations and schools to help organisations that would not have the funds to do it themselves, to install solar panels, LED lighting and other energy saving measures.
- npower Business Solutions Fund is offering grants of up to £100,000 to help create stronger, greener and more sustainable local communities. Applications are being accepted from not-for-profits and educational institutions that are at least two years old and are located within a 50-mile radius of npower Business Solutions’ offices in Solihull. No application deadline is given for the fund.
- IM Properties Community Fund supports projects with grants up to £3,000, addressing one of the following priorities as part of IM Properties Sustainable Futures
- The Dulverton Trust Fund supports charitable activities addressing local needs throughout Warwickshire, including developing sustainable and supportive communities, the general conservation and protection of wildlife habitats.

National Funding Programmes
- Community organisations can apply for a share of £250,000 through the Energy Efficiency Sharematch It can be used to install on-site energy generation measures like solar panels and heat pumps, improve building energy efficiency through insulation and LED lighting, and upgrade operational equipment to more energy-efficient alternatives. Closing date is March 2025.
- Severn Trent Community Fund is providing grants of up to £200,000 to fund projects which improve community wellbeing through 3 key elements: People, Places & Environment.
- The Woodland Trust is giving away free trees to UK schools and communities with packs to be delivered in November 2024. Applications will close on 26th August.
- If you are a landowner wanting to plant 500+ trees on at least half a hectare, you can apply to the Woodland Trust for trees, funding and expert advice. Find out about MOREwoods to create a shelterbelt, fill a field corner or even plant a small woodland.
- The Woodlands Trust MOREhedges scheme can cover up to 75% of the cost if you plant 100 metres or more of new hedging and allow a large tree to grow every six metres. They will provide the trees, tree protection and expert advice to make your project a success.
- The Tree Council’s Branching Out grant programme is for community groups, schools and Tree Warden Networks seeking funding of between £250 and £2,500 to establish trees, hedgerows, and orchards. Open until Sunday 1 December.
- Not for profit organisations can apply for funding to the Nineveh Charitable Trust for a broad range of projects and activities that promote a better understanding of the environment and countryside, whilst facilitating improved access, education and research. Applications can be submitted at any time.
