At the Leamington Christmas Tree Festival, Bee Friendly Warwick’s tree sparkled with handmade bee baubles, mushrooms, twig stars, pine cones, moss decorations, and a scene of hibernating queen bumblebees – all celebrating nature and forest life.

This year’s tree is a handmade celebration of bees, forests, and nature. At its heart are eight large, hand‑painted bee baubles, each representing a rare or unusual bumble or solitary bee, complete with wings crafted from cellophane and wire and accompanied by information labels.

The decorations are almost entirely natural or handmade: clay fly agaric mushrooms, twig stars, pine cones, orange slices, and moss baubles inspired by Japanese kokedama. Bristle‑brush woodland animals add character, while sycamore leaves remind us to value fallen leaves.

At the base, a painted scene shows how queen bumblebees hibernate underground, tucked beneath bark, moss, and leaves – a gentle nod to the hidden life of nature in winter.
