Fenny Compton Parish Council – Vacancy – Clerk

Fenny Compton is an attractive rural parish in South Warwickshire, with a population of c.1300 people.

The Parish Council is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and friendly parish clerk and RFO, to work with the elected parish councillors and oversee the smooth operation of council business. The role is varied and interesting. The clerk is often the public face of the council, a first port of call for residents who wish to bring matters to the council’s attention. At the same time the clerk manages the administration of the council, including its finances and legal compliance, and will manage delivery by contractors such as grass cutting or repairing facilities. We are looking for someone with the right blend of skills, knowledge and experience to take on this rewarding role.

The role is part-time at 32 hours per month, and is home-based, with the exception of our monthly parish council meeting, which is held in the evening on the 3rd Monday of the month (except August).

You do not need previous experience of being a clerk, as training will be provided, but experience of taking minutes and using a range of computer software will be beneficial. You should also have a real interest in the village and a dedication to delivering a high quality service.
