Pillerton Hersey Parish Council is seeking applicants for the post of Clerk to the Parish Council and Responsible Finance Officer. Salary is in accordance with the National Joint Council (NJC) SCP 18 pro-rata and would involve approximately 8 hours per month.

The Parish Council has 5 seats with an electorate of 145 at the last count, and the 2020 budget is circa £1,500.

The Parish Clerk is responsible for the administration and finances of the council. Working from home, the post includes evening work and attendance is required at the four/five Parish Council Meetings and the Annual Parish Assembly Meeting.

Candidates will need: 

  • motivation to be involved in village affairs
  • excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
  • good communication skills, to be able to prepare agendas, take accurate minutes and manage the Council’s administration and finances.
  • to be computer literate with confident knowledge of MS Office applications (or similar), internet, email and social media
  • the ability to meet deadlines and work alone, using their initiative 

Ideally, the successful candidate will already hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration or be willing to work towards the qualification. Training courses are available.

Castle Bromwich are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Council which has been undergoing a period of reorganisation. The group of 15 councillors is keen to move forward and develop its community facilities.

They are looking to appoint a Parish Clerk to also work as our Responsible Finance Officer (RFO) and help take the Council forward in this exciting period of change.

37 hours per week with extra hours by arrangement.  The hours are to be worked to suit the right candidate, with an expectation of core hours between 10am – 4pm Mon - Fri. There will be regular evening work and some weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.

The annual salary lies within LC3 range, SCP 33 – 36 ie £35,934 and £38,813, and is dependent on experience and qualifications. There will be a review of the position following the first six months in post.

Preston on Stour is a small parish in an historic village in rural south Warwickshire. The Parish Council is seeking an organised and self-motivated individual to carry out the duties of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. This post is home based, although the clerk is required to attend council meetings (bi-monthly) in Preston on Stour.
