1:45 PM - 4:00 PMAn opportunity for local councils and community groups to visit Sherbourne Recycling, the new, state of the art Materials Recycling Facility in Coventry. The company is jointly owned by eight local authorities across the West Midlands, including the District and Borough Councils across Warwickshire as well as Coventry and Solihull.
You'll see how your household recycling is sorted by state-of-the-art waste management solutions that includes advanced robotics, Ai technology and optical sorters that can tell the difference between various items - such as a carton from a drinks can.
The free tour lasts two hours and is for a maximum of 16 people. Please email climateofficer@walc.org.uk to reserve your place.
It goes without saying that we encourage lift sharing to minimise carbon emissions.
All visitors must be able to traverse stairs easily and are healthy enough to be in close proximity to magnets and dust. All visitors will be expected to wear protective clothing provided including safety shoes.
For security purposes we will need advance notification of your car registration. You will also need to sign up to having read the health and safety information in advance.
