Shustoke is in North Warwickshire

Shustoke Parish Council is seeking to appoint a part time (22.5 hours per month) Clerk/Responsible Officer to the Council to administer the work of the council and manage its financial duties.

Last winter the UK experienced several outbreaks of avian influenza - better known as bird flu. This highly contagious disease affects birds including chickens, ducks and geese, and can be fatal to them, devastating farmers’ livelihoods.

NALC have responded to the Autumn 2017 budget with the following statement...

"There are encouraging signs from the Chancellor on his vision for the future of the economy, devolution and handing more power to local people, however he missed a trick by not going further to boost the Government’s devolution and localist credentials.

NALC have sent the following responses to recent consultations

Non profit making projects or those making little income are open to public bodies. 

The minimum grant is £35000 and can be for cycle-ways; improving museums etc. for non profit making projects the grant can be 100% of the project cost.

The project must link to a priority identified by the local LEP.

WCC Report – The Home to School Policy consultation ended on 2nd November. SPC has sent a response outlining flaws in the proposals.

WDC Report –The Local Plan was formally adopted on 20th September 2017. 

A new full time permanent position has been created at Chippenham Town Council to provide corporate support. A new Chief Executive was appointed in May of this year, a new Council and a new Leader were also elected in May. The Council are set to adopt a new four year Corporate Strategic Plan in November, which will set the vision for the council over the next four years. The Corporate Support Manager will play a key role in providing support to ensure that Chippenham Town Council continues to maintain its high standards of service, good governance and assist in delivering the new Corporate Plan. 

NALC have united with the Alzheimer’s Society to help the community battle against dementia in local areas. At NALC’s Annual Conference on 31 October, the chairman of NALC, Cllr Sue Baxter, and Alzheimer’s Society ambassador and famous broadcaster Angela Rippon jointly sign a strategic commitment on dementia.
