The journey to achieve Fairtrade Village status for Studley began in June 2015 when three 10 year old pupils from a local primary school in Studley attended a Parish Council meeting and gave a presentation on Fairtrade to the Parish Council. The school had already gained its first two Fairtrade awards and the children were eager to spread the Fairtrade word to the whole village.

Following their presentation the Parish Council passed a resolution to work towards becoming a Fairtrade Village.
