Warwickshire County Council is reviewing how it supports the rural economy.

Following a series of conversations with stakeholders, we have identified a broad range of issues, and used these to help us, Warwickshire County Council develop a DRAFT ‘Rural Growth Plan’.

WCC would now like to get your views on the draft document and specifically we would wish to welcome comments on:

From 4 May 2017 Warwickshire County Council will have new electoral boundaries (and a reduction to 57 councillors). The boundary changes are significant and we are having a lot of enquiries from candidates and public who are trying to understand the changes.

Ordnance Survey provide excellent mapping but of course will not be publishing the new boundaries until they are actually in place.

The Riding for the Disabled Association presented their proposal to move their HQ to Lowlands Farm, Shrewley. See Planning Application W/17/0274 on the WDC website for more information (www.warwickdc.gov.uk).

WCC Report –The council tax has been set with a 2% increase for social care. Forty extra social workers have been recruited to help with the 750 children in care. There will be no reduction in the gritting routes, fly tipping or Fire and Rescue Service or Highways budget despite a £67million budget cut. The Stanks Island works are delayed and will now start later this year. Broadband is now available throughout 85% of the county.
