Campaign To Protect Rural England Warwickshire are seeking volunteers to help monitor planning applications.

CPRE Warwickshire are looking for people with a strong interest in the countryside and a desire to protect for the present and the future of all the best characteristics of our county.

Currently the charity is under-represented in North Warwickshire, Warwick  and Rugby districts with little or no cover to monitor and investigate planning applications.

CPRE Warwickshire would like to recruit people who are concerned about unsuitable developments in their area. This is a volunteer role working within the planning group to monitor planning applications and to make suitable comments to the relevant authority about value to the local community and alignment with the local plans and general policies.

This involves writing to the appropriate planning departments with CPRE's comments, suggestions, objections (if needed) and observations. CPRE work within the guidelines of the Local Plan and the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

This may sound a bit overpowering but CPRE are able, as a group, to offer full support. This involves training and very importantly conversations with other planning volunteers within CPRE. Regular meetings are held with all the planning people to ensure consistency and a responsible and professional presentation of our views.

You can make a difference.

Please contact John Wharam, CPRE Warwickshire's Branch Manager, if you would like to find out more about this opportunity on 01926 494597 or 07724 604091. Find out more about what CPRE Warwickshire cares about.
