Warwickshire County Council is currently conducting an evaluation of the impact of our Third Sector Support contract (delivered by WCAVA), and thinking about our commissioning intentions for the future. Take the survey for third sector organisations across Warwickshire, regardless of membership of WCAVA.
A new report has been commissioned by the Princes Trust looking into issues affecting rural communities. Their findings make interesting reading and may help identify opportunities for communities to apply for grant funding for projects.
The Prince’s Countryside Fund wanted to understand how rural communities can be helped to be self-sufficient and viable into 2030 and beyond. This will assist the Fund to plan and deliver its future support to rural areas through grant giving, advocacy or enabling delivery. Through the process, it was hoped to identify case studies and examples of best practice, highlight key areas of opportunity for future policy consideration and make recommendations for rural communities to consider in order to ensure a resilient and sustainable future.
The Locality Working team at Warwickshire County Council is currently trying to build up a picture of community activity taking place across the county.
To do this, they are undertaking a mapping exercise to collate this information, which they will then be able to use to promote to the public, partners and internal teams within Warwickshire County Council all of the activities and services that communities offer. It will also help them to establish any particular gaps in services across the county and enable all tiers of local government to work better together to build stronger communities.
