Development Requirements Supplementary Planning Document Consultation

Stratford District Council has prepared a draft Development Requirements Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). It is one of a number of SPDs that accompanies the Core Strategy, and it provides detailed advice and guidance to applicants when submitting planning applications. 

WCC Report – Council tax has increased by 4.99% with 2% ring fenced for Social Care.  £2.5 million is being spent to transform services so they are more straightforward and convenient as part of a digital transformation programme.

Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has launched their Green Future document which outlines their 25 Year Plan to improve the environment. It details how the Government will work with communities and businesses to do this.

All Parish Councillors should be aware that comments on social media can (and do!) lead to legal liability. Last year, a businessman won defamation damages against two local Councillors after one made comments about his business dealings on a Facebook site hosted by the other, suggesting he had bought a school site at an improper undervalue from the local authority. The two Councillors had to pay £32,000 costs (plus their own) and £15,000 damages.
