Many councils realise the potential of social media, but are not sure where to start or how to get the most out of it. Others are concerned about the pitfalls that social media poses.
WALC has partnered with Breakthrough Communications who have extensive experience across both local government and communications sectors.
They understand the challenges as well as the opportunities that many town and parish councils face when it comes to social media.
To help councils get the most out of social media, they have created a completely free Social Media Health Check service and have carried out over 100 of them for councils right across the country. All Member councils need to do is to fill out a quick form and Breakthrough Communications will take care of the rest.
Once the health check is complete, a meeting will be set up. Councils can expect to go through a useful report that identifies ways the council can get even more from its social media. Once the meeting is complete, councils will receive a copy of the report for their own use.
