Last week, the Government published the prospectus for the Towns Fund, which will provide an investment of up to £25 million for 100 places to increase economic growth with a focus on regeneration, improved transport, better broadband connectivity, skills and culture.

Lead councils will convene a Town Deal Board, no later than the end of January 2020, then produce a Town Investment Plan no later than Summer 2020. Our most local town being Nuneaton, the Lead Council could expect to receive a Town Capacity Funding Allocation of up to £173,029. The Town Deal Board is to be made up of, amongst community and business partners, all tiers of local government including Parish and Town Councils who have an important role to play in convening stakeholders and providing localised perspective, as they are closely connected to the communities they serve.
