Severn Trent has partnered with Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as its Official Nature & Carbon Neutral Supporter to help create the first ever carbon neutral games.
To help maximise the legacy of the Commonwealth Games and support this environmental partnership, Severn Trent are temporarily refocusing their Community Fund in the run up to the Games and will be focusing specifically on projects that help communities all across the Severn Trent region reduce carbon and care for nature.
Non-profit organisations and local community groups with an income of less than £500,000 (averaged over the last 3 years) will be able to apply for a grant of £5,000, £10,000 or £20,000 to support their new community project linking to one or more of the following themes - Green spaces, Recycling and making the most of resources and Water saving heroes
Parish and town councils are eligible to apply.
Applications open Monday 10 January 2022 and close Sunday 20 February 2022. The March 2022 Customer Panel meeting will focus on shortlisting these projects. Shortlisted projects will then go to a public vote in April and successful projects will be awarded in May.
