NALC Annual Conference 2018

You can now book to attend this year’s NALC annual conference and I would urge you to do so quickly to avoid missing out on the biggest event in the sector’s calendar! This year the conference will be debating the future of the sector in post-Brexit Britain and some important issues around that including devolution of powers, financial challenges facing community councils and the changing role of community councils in delivering local services – this has already received media coverage in LocalGov and Public Sector Executive. CANCELLED NALC Spring Conference 2020

NALC were informed that Aviva has taken the responsible decision, given its size, to cancel for the foreseeable future all internal and external events at Aviva due to the risk of Coronavirus. The Aviva City of London office remains open. As a result, NALC’s Spring Conference due to be held on 17 March in the Auditorium of the Aviva City of London office is being postponed, and will now take place at a later date to be confirmed. Given the nature of the circumstances, and these being out of NALC’s control, we do hope those scheduled to attend will understand. More details will be made available in due course.

Health & Wellbeing Week

Before lockdown, many local councils across England were stepping up to the plate to get involved in the health and wellbeing agenda in their communities. COVID-19 has now permanently embedded the crucial role local councils have to play in health and wellbeing in their areas.


An updated, online follow-on to NALC’s original Spring Conference, Health and Wellbeing Week will showcase the relevance of local councils to all major aspects of community health – ranging from the future of health to partnership working.
