Warwickshire PCC Budget and Engagement meeting

Town and parish councils across Warwickshire are being invited by Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe to give their views on the future of policing in the county, as he begins the process for setting budgets for 2021/22.

A special online forum is being held on Thursday 17 December to give members of WALC the opportunity to join the Commissioner to discuss policing and community safety within Warwickshire. The current and future financial position of Warwickshire Police’s budget and financial pressures will be outlined, along with the opportunity for councillors to represent their communities and feedback what they think the local spending priorities should be.

The event comes as part of a wider public consultation which launched at the end of November and is continuing to gather views from the public until early January 2021.

The ‘Your Police, Your Views’ survey aims to get opinions from all parts of Warwickshire on how local people feel money should be spent on policing and community safety, including what types of initiatives should be financed through grants and commissioned services.

The questions also give the opportunity for people living and working in the county to provide further feedback on policing and community safety, to help understand the Commissioner understand what they feel works well and also what needs improvement.

The survey is open now and will run until early January 2021 at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WPFundingSurvey

All local councils are encouraged to help publicise the online survey in their communities to ensure there is a wide range of feedback from all parts of the county.

How to take part

The meeting between WALC Members and the PCC is scheduled for 10am-11.30am on Thursday 17 December and will be held using Microsoft Teams.  To gain access to this meeting please register and the login details will be emailed to you.

This meeting is open to Warwickshire Council members only, and not members of the public.
