Local choice / local need housing schemes can only be brought forward by local communities and with the support of local communities i.e. developers are not in the driving seat. The schemes rely on an assessment of local housing needs and can include affordable homes and some local market homes.

This event is open to Parish Councillors in Stratford upon Avon area together with District Councillors and those from the County Council that have constituencies in this part of the County.

The theme this year is Rural Transport something that is a concern to all Parish Councils.  We are interpreting this topic in the broadest possible terms so it will involve everything from scheduled bus routes through community minibuses down to volunteer drivers.

We are expecting there will be a high demand for seats on this topic so Councils will be limited to two places each.

This FREE session is aimed at new councillors and gives an introduction to planning matters, the planning process and the respective roles of the District Council (the Planning Authority) and Town/Parish Councils.

Site Allocations Plan - Briefing for Parish Councillors

As part of its public consultation exercise on the Proposed Submission Version of the Site Allocations Plan, a briefing session for parish councillors will be held at 5pm on 3 September 2019. This will outline the background and purpose of the Site Allocations Plan, its content and the next steps. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions.

As this is anticipated to attract a lot of interest, we are having to limit attendance to no more than 2 representatives from each parish.

This event was open to Parish Councillors in Stratford upon Avon area together with District Councillors and those from the County Council that have constituencies in this part of the County.

1. This is the fourth year of these events the aims of which are to continue to strengthen partnership working and relationships with Councillors from other authorities, and
2. to have a better understanding and awareness of each other's roles in Climate Change and how we can work better together.

The theme this year is Climate Change something that is a concern to all Parish Councils.

Jonathan Owen, Chief Executive at NALC, was our key note speaker along with representatives from the County, District and Parish Councils who will talk about their roles within this agenda. 

Voluntary and Community Organisations also attended to demonstrate the great initiatives that are already happening in the District to tackle Climate Change.  There were for discussion/workshops within the event with feedback in terms of next steps and how we can all work together on this very important topic. 

Opportunity to hear from Officers about the contents of the Preferred Options version of the Site Allocations Plan before it is discussed at Cabinet and Council in October. If approved by Council, a 6 week public consultation will follow October – December where you will have your opportunity to have your say.  

Parish and Town Councils and Parish Meetings in Warwick Distrcit are invited to a meeting to discuss how a move to one or more unitary council in Warwickshire could affect Parish and Town Councils in Warwick District.

You may be aware that the County Council is discussing this on Tuesday 22nd September, and reports have been commissioned by the County Council and by the District and Borough Councils.

It is very likely that there would be a greater role for our councils in delivering services if this goes ahead.

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership and the Older Drivers Forum are hosting a FREE webinar on Thursday 5th May, 1.30 - 3.00pm for mature drivers in Warwickshire and their families and friends. This webinar will provide information on licence renewal at 70, eyesight requirements, the Highway Code and particularly the new changes introduced in January as well as giving you practical road safety tips to help you, or family members, carry on driving safely for longer. You will have the opportunity to ask questions to all the speakers during a dedicated question & answer section. The webinar will last for 90 minutes with a short break in the middle.

Warwickshire County Council invites Warwickshire Town & Parish Councils to discuss the latest progress and plans to reach our net zero targets.

Join us for this online event where Warwickshire County Council will share a summary of the progress being made to reduce carbon emissions and increase biodiversity across the county, followed by discussions on how we can best work together to reach our net zero targets.

The event is intended for representatives of Warwickshire's town and parish councils and contributions and questions will be welcomed.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Rob Allen and IRMP Manager Ade Mallaban from Fire & Rescue Services will be attending the meeting to discuss the Fire & Rescue Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) Consultation, which will be undertaken from July 4 - Sept 24.

The Reference Group will be asked to help shape the consultation and promote within their communities. 

The meeting will be used to explore the sorts of questions and priorities to be included in the consultation and some pre-reading information will be circulated to all councils in advance of the meeting.

Warwickshire County Council is inviting local people and organisations to provide feedback on future plans for walking and cycling. 

The draft Warwickshire Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) has been developed following community engagement in 2021, which asked people to identify what types of walking and cycling improvements they would like to see in their local area. 

We are now inviting people who live, work, study and travel in Warwickshire to comment on various aspects of the draft plan, and help to refine and prioritise outline proposals for Warwickshire’s walking and cycling schemes of the future.
