Western Power Distribution Stakeholder Workshop

Western Power Distribution are the company responsible for keeping the lights on, dealing with emergencies, connecting renewables to the network and a range of initiatives to help people in vulnerable situations and in fuel poverty – across the midlands.
They are running a series of stakeholder workshops where they seek feedback from a range of stakeholders on the company’s future plans. It’s really important that they get good representation from town and parish councillors at these events as many of the topics are of real relevance for them.
This is not a marketing initiative. WPD get no money for doing this – but they have an onus placed on them to ensure that their business decisions reflect the views of their stakeholders. The events are completely free and lunch is provided.

CANCELLED NALC Spring Conference 2020

NALC were informed that Aviva has taken the responsible decision, given its size, to cancel for the foreseeable future all internal and external events at Aviva due to the risk of Coronavirus. The Aviva City of London office remains open. As a result, NALC’s Spring Conference due to be held on 17 March in the Auditorium of the Aviva City of London office is being postponed, and will now take place at a later date to be confirmed. Given the nature of the circumstances, and these being out of NALC’s control, we do hope those scheduled to attend will understand. More details will be made available in due course.
Board leadership: Supporting your charity through the next phase of the pandemic

Following the introduction of social distancing measures earlier this year, the focus of trustees has rightly on responding to the crisis. Bounce Back from COVID! N Warks & Rugby

WCAVA's recent State of the Sector survey highlighted that 60% of organisations who responded had reduced activity in a significant way in response to the pandemic. Although it is still too early to determine the full extent of the impact from the coronavirus pandemic, it is still expected to be a smaller sector that emerges.
WCAVA wants to help groups to bounce back and tackle the challenges they face on resuming or expanding activities over the next few months as lockdown eases.
The event will cover topics such as:
• Share issues/problems and hear how others are tackling these
• Recovery planning
• Keeping volunteers safe and recruiting new ones
• Financial implications-fundraising
• Facility opening
• Good governance in a pandemic
The events will be delivered by Zoom and a meeting ID and a password will be emailed prior to the event. Click here to book.
