Managing and leading people is one of the most challenging situations we find ourselves in.

As a community leader you will explore

  1. The law/ rules governing meetings
  2. Key relationships, team building
  3. How to deal with conflict
  4. Community engagement, its influence
  5. Create a forward plan......vision
  6. Implications for resources and budgets

Plus an opportunity to network with colleagues and share experiences.

Attendance at this session will accrue 3 CPD points per delegate

The session will be led by Kim Bedford. FILCM
Kim has over 10 years’ experience in the local council sector, initially as a council clerk, a councillor and County Officer for Gloucestershire, where she developed and instigated advice and training for councillors and clerks. Seeing numerous changes, she has incorporated many new ideas and details into her courses to enable her attendees to ‘hit the ground running’ with enthusiasm and knowledge.

Fees:

£45.00 per delegate for Member Councils
£90.00 per delegate for non-member councils
these fees are low compared with other county associations and training providers

Help with Delegate’s Fees – WALC will subsidise member councils with a budgeted income under £30,000 provided they send 2 or more delegates. For every two delegates who attend one is free.
