The National Training Strategy (NTS) represents a national commitment to training in the local council sector shared by national, regional and local stakeholder organisations. The purpose of the Strategy is to offer training to councils in order for them to make the most of their role and carry out their duties more easily.

An Introduction to VAT for Local Councils

This session explains how VAT affects local councils, with practical exercises to help develop your understanding and is suitable for Clerks, Finance Officers, councillors on finance committees and councillors who wish to develop their knowledge in this area. 

Essential for any council contemplating major building projects.

Basic introduction to Playground Management and Inspection

This half day event will cover the basics in managing the inspections of your playgrounds and will consist of both theory and practical sessions.  We will be visiting playgrounds for the practical parts of the training.

The course will be led by TCL Group RPII inspector Dan Clifft and supported by our Technical Director Jonathan Highley who is also RPII operationally trained.

Places are limited to 2 delegates per council - priority will be given to WALC member councils
