Course Details

The session will begin with a general introduction focusing on how to approach the tasks: to help new candidates, and refresh the memories of those who have already attended. Candidates will be expected to have read and absorbed the introduction (Setting the Scene) in the portfolio guide
Thereafter the sessions will concentrate on Unit 2: Law and Procedures in Local Councils
There will also be time to raise individual queries

The tutor will hold a general “how-to-tackle-the portfolio” section and will cover specific questions within the portfolio which are known to cause problem.

an agenda and minutes for an ordinary meeting of your council, (i.e. not the Annual Meeting) a copy of your council's standing orders

All candidates must register in advance to attend.
Fees to members of neighbouring associations are £30:00 per delegate
Fees to non member councils £60.00 per delegate

Important note

You will not be eligible to attend the third CiLCA portfolio training session unless you have an SLCC candidate number.
