Save Our Shropshire has offered WALC Members free places on their bespoke course for Town and Parish Councils. This is being delivered over two mornings: May 14 and 21, from 9am to 1pm. Register your place.
During these two half days of interactive learning, councillors and officers will:
- Gain an understanding of the basic science of climate change and how climate change will affect us both globally and locally.
- Learn about emissions under your influence.
- Understand the scale of the challenge, what you need to do, and which actions will have the greatest impact in helping your council reach net zero.
- Create an action plan to help reduce the carbon footprint of your local area.
- Explore strategies for talking to and influencing residents to act on climate change.
- Be empowered to support residents in making informed low carbon choices.
- Be empowered to mobilise change within your sphere of influence
